Unanimous Approval For Solstice

Dyldam’s latest project has received unanimous approval from the Sydney West Central Planning Panel for SOLSTICE located at 5-7 Parkes Street. The SWCPP decision follows a rigorous Design Excellence Competition held in 2015 to create Dyldam’s vision for a revitalised southern gateway to Parramatta’s CBD.
At the time the Competition Jury noted:
“This competition winning design was awarded design excellence by the design jury as it has “excellent, regular apartment plans, good resolution of internal corner design and efficient layouts. It is comprised of slender tower forms capped by open, coloured frames, creating a silhouetted skyline, particularly when viewed from a distance. It addresses the park with slender proportioned balconies in the lower levels and fine splayed columns with pointed tops in the terrace pergolas.” (extract from Design Competition Jury Report).”
SOLSTICE’s appealing design was a dynamic collaboration between three leading architects – Tony Caro Architecture, Aleksander Design Group and Order Architects.
Previously the home of the Lone Star Tavern, the 2016m2 site’s design challenges include a narrow corner location and traffic/accessibility issues as the site fronts Parkes and Anderson Streets.
